This is a personal piece created for licensing, a sleeping boy.
Step 6: added final shading and textures.
Step 5: introduced additional background texture.
Step 4: replaced the sketch with final line work.
Step 3: added a white texture for the shirt and fingernails.
Step 2: blocked in figure and background color.
Step 1: this is the rough sketch for the image.
i love seeing your process. It looks fabulous. I love the background texture, but i’m sort of losing the pillow after step 3. I thought he was praying at first.
Lovely. Is the final line work done digitally?
Thanks. The pillow is a bit obscure, praying is a welcome second message, not directly intentional. All of the line work is scanned in pencil, cut and arranged and colorized.
