This is a piece for my Veer collection, from a small sketch of a hand reaching to grab a small object. The hand evolved into this big whale-like arm set against an abstract landscape. I wasn’t sure what the hand should be grasping at but eventually decided to use a bird as a counterpoint to the arm (small, frail, white), about to be captured in mid-flight, or maybe just released (gentle giant?).
